Once again, the Indian film industry as well as the audience is geared up to experience the feel that an Aamir Khan movie has to offer. Mr. Perfectionist is all set for the release of his next biggie “Dangal” which will hit the silver screen on 23rd December 2016, making the Christmas weekend even more special. As with all Aamir Khan-movies, this one too promises to be a delightful mix of emotion, drama, excitement and much, much more. Based on the life story of Haryanavi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, “Dangal” seems like a distant cousin of “Sultan”, but Aamir Khan has a reputation of being different and that he will be this time too.
Here are some reasons why “Dangal” is the most awaited film of the year:
Return of Mr. Perfectionist
The film marks the return of Aamir Khan to the silver screen after he has been absent for a gap of two years, the last time being the phenomenal hit “PK”. The actor’s choices for the characters he plays has always been appreciable….from the quirky college student in “3 Idiots” to the humanoid alien in “PK”. This time Aamir would be playing the role of national level wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who realized his sporting dreams through his daughters.
Once again, Aamir getting into the skin of his character
As always, Aamir Khan went a long way to get into the skin of his character. He underwent an incredible physical transformation for this purpose, gaining 27 kg first and then shedding it all to get six pack abs to fit into the various stages of his character. Though his entire journey, he serves inspiration for people looking to fulfill some next-to-impossible fitness goals.
Like all other Aamir Khan films, “Dangal” features a storyline which is powerful and inspiring as the actor would not settle for anything less. It is a narrative of a man who goes beyond the conventions of the society and trains his daughters to excel in wrestling, normally seen as a male-dominated sport. At the same time, it weaves through the emotions of a father who stands up against the world so that his daughters can get the success they deserve.
The expectations from the movie are high, as they always are with an Aamir Khan movie. “Dangal” does not have big names on its star cast (except for Mr. Perfectionist himself); but the newcomers like Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Ali Shaikh look extremely promising, as far as the trailers go. Sakshi Tanwar, the television soap queen, plays Phogat’s wife and she will surely live up to the reputation and stardom she has garnered as an outstanding small screen actress.
”Pahelwani to sirf chore kare hain. Mhare chhoriyan ka chore se kam hain”.
Dialogues like these are surely going to get huge applause from the audience in the cinema halls. The amazing one-liners delivered in quirky Haryanavi accent, which has so well been popularized by Salman Khan in “Sultan”, make another good reason to throng the theaters.
Christmas comes two days early this year…….get ready to watch the latest and one of the most anticipated movie of the year!!
